The International Women’s Forum

The International Women’s Forum was launched in New York City in 1974, when the first generation of women leaders was breaking the glass ceiling across sectors from finance to the arts. Its founders lacked access to the “old boys’ network”, so they built their own, to support one another, to advance each member’s success, and to inspire the women who follow.

Today IWF connects more than 8,400 preeminent women leaders in 78 Forums across 37 countries and six continents, the only organisation of its scale building significant relationships among C-level women across careers, cultures and continents.

Our mission:

Advancing women’s leadership today and tomorrow. Together we are shaping a future in which leadership has no gender.

We connect Dutch women leaders to a global sisterhood.

IWF Netherlands is the Dutch chapter of this global network, currently being established. We bring together accomplished women across sectors and generations to meet, inspire, support and strengthen one another; and to put their experience to work for positive societal, economic, cultural and governance impact.

Our purpose is to advance women’s leadership, the participation of women in society, and the representation of women in leading roles across business, science, government, justice and culture while fostering diversity, inclusion, knowledge exchange and international collaboration.
